Signs of the End: A Discovery of Biblical Timelines
Saturday, 6 September 2008

With Rosh Hashanah 2008 just days away, some are expecting that this may be the Rapture time. The reason for this is that 49 years of 360 days fits exactly from June 7, 1967 (the regaining of Jerusalem) to the Day of Atonement 2015. This can also be restated as 2,520 weeks. This is interesting since June 7, 1967 also came 2,520 years of 360 days (2,483.8 solar years) from the end of Jerusalem's 70 years of Desolations in 518 BC. But it is also interesting in that a rare Tetrad of lunar eclipses on the Lord's Feast Days culminate on the Feast of Tabernacles 2015 (Please see, The Four Lunar Eclipses of 2014-2015, in regards to the Tetrad).

Therefore, if 2015 is the end of the 70th Week, then 7 years prior comes 2008. So if this theory holds true, then we are just days from the Rapture which fits the theme of the Feast of Trumpets. However, this means that there are only a few days left in which many things need to change, since the Feast of Trumpets begins on sundown this September 30th. What occurs over the next few weeks seem to be the key to the veracity of this theory.

The major obstacle is the preparation for Ezekiel's War with Russia and her allies invading Israel. If this war begins before the Tribulation to allow for the seven years of weapons burning, then this event must be very near the horizon for this theory to work. Russia and Iran are making preparations, but other countries still need to make their way into the fold. If Ezekiel's War is to happen just prior to the Tribulation with 2008 as the beginning time, then this war must begin quickly. Georgia will need to be controlled or aligned to Russia to allow for the invasion. Turkey will also need to be aligned, as well as the eastern bloc of at least some countries from the lineage of Gomer. This would also require the readiness of the Sudan (part of ancient Ethiopia) and either Libya or Somalia. Turkey and Gomer currently seem to be the key missing ingredient to alert those watching. If 2008 were to be the year for the Rapture, it would seem that much must occur in the few weeks that remain. The coming weeks will be critical to this theory.

Some are proposing that Rosh Hashanah will be the day that begins the Tribulation known as the 70th Week. This is a common perception in that many believe the Rapture begins the Tribulation, but Scripture only indicates that it starts at the beginning of a seven-year covenant. But if the Rapture were to begin the 70th Week this year on the Feast of Trumpets and end on the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur) 2015, then the total time would come to 2,550 days. But here is an issue of length.

If Daniel’s 69 Weeks of 360-day years ran out precisely on Palm Sunday at 173,880 days, then the 70th Week should be limited to seven years of 360 days making the total limited to 2,520 days. In Signs of the End the conclusion was that the day count will come to 2,519 days, which will allow for the middle day to be 1,260 days inclusively from beginning or end and would therefore cut the 70th Week one day short. For the Tribulation to be 2,550 days seems to exceed the time allotted for the 70th Week and also for the fact that the days need to be cut short by Christ while maintaining 1,260 days for the last half.

But even with accepting a more traditional understanding of a limit of 2,520 days for the 70th Week, this would only give 30 more days after Rosh Hashanah 2008 to reveal the Antichrist and settle the issue of Ezekiel’s War. Again the coming weeks are critical to the 2008 theory.

However, another item presented by the 2,550-day scenario is that thirty days have been placed between two periods of 1,260 days. This would seem to be a solution to the 1,290 days mentioned in Daniel 12, but this would mean that since the 1,335 days would start where the 1,290 days began, then the 1,335 days would transpire 45 days after Yom Kippur. This then would come to an end on a non-significant biblical day, which does not seem fitting for a blessed day of the new Millennium. The solution in Signs of the End and other scholars is to make the Abomination of Desolation the mid-point and the overall starting point for all three timelines of 1,260, 1,290, and 1,335 days. Under this scenario the 1,335 days end on the same anniversary day that the 40 days and nights of rain in the Flood ended, which is also the second day of Hanukkah to begin the third day of gift giving.

When researching the calendar it was only the years of 2010 to 2017 that fit the possibilities of the 70th Week occurring before the generational time limit of 70 years from the rebirth of Israel in 1948. One key ingredient was for the Jewish calendar to have only one leap month in the period of 1,260 days instead of two leap months. Then if Yom Kippur (the conclusion of 1,260 days) was on the Sabbath, it also meant that the mid-point of the 70th Week would come on Resurrection Sunday—the Feast of Firstfruits. This would seem to be fitting for the Antichrist and his healing of the deadly wound by the indwelling of Satan—an imitation to the Resurrection and also the time of the Abomination of Desolation. In considering the years of 2008 to 2015, 1,260 days back from Yom Kippur does not land on Resurrection Sunday. Going back 1,290 days produces no other significant date as well, if the 30-day interval is applied according to the theory of 2,550 days.

But as the Day approaches more will come together. No significance will be lost to any of the date relationships that have been seen from the amazing time of the Six-Day-War. The significance of 14,000 days to Rosh Hashanah 2005 and 14,400 days to Heshvan 17, 2006 have been proven to be significant. The significance of 2,520 weeks to Yom Kippur 2015 is still yet to be determined. But we must determine not to be discouraged because as we get closer things will become more apparent for those watching through Scripture.
